KITA X LG HOUSEHOLD & HEALTHCARE

KITA jointly hosts an Open Innovation Program between LG Household & Healthcare, the biggest cosmetics & healthcare company of South Korea and international startups in the ‘Bio / Healthcare Industry’.

Areas of interest
LG H&H seeks to collaborate with startups with following areas;

A. Companies that have or are preparing regenerative organic certification

  • Companies that deal with farms, raw materials, and ingredients for food, beauty and personal care products
  • Companies that have organic certification

B. Microbiome (skin, gut, etc.) and beauty-related genetic diagnosis/analysis/differentiated business model

C. Research on skin immunity-related efficacy evaluation method (lactic acid bacteria new function research)

D. Research on eco-friendly cosmetic raw materials such as bio-surfactant/ethanol

Qualifications
Startups with products (prototypes) / technology related to the areas of interest A-D.

* All materials submitted by startups should be written in English (Company one-pager, Pitch Deck, Business Proposal, etc)

** Business meetings will be conducted online and in English. Additional translation service will not be provided.

Benefit for selected startups
The possible benefits that can be provided by LG H&H for the startups that apply in this project are as follows:

  • Joint Research / Commercialization
  • Equity Investments by LG H&H
  • Access to the information and DB that affiliated companies of LG hold
Specific benefits will be discussed at the business meeting between the selected startups and LG H&H

Process of Challenge
I. Application Deadline

1) February 28th, 2022: A. Companies that have or are preparing regenerative organic certification*
*Further Schedules will be announced apart from Areas of Interest B-D

2) October 31st, 2021: B. Microbiome (skin, gut, etc.) and beauty-related genetic diagnosis/analysis/differentiated business model
C. Research on skin immunity-related efficacy evaluation method (lactic acid bacteria new function research)
D. Research on eco-friendly cosmetic raw materials such as bio-surfactant/ethanol

II. Application Result Announcements – November 4th-15th, 2021
Every startup applicant will be communicated with the result via e-mail.
Startups selected for the business meetups will be asked to reply possible schedule to attend online meetups.

III. Business Meetup with LG H&H (Online) – November 18th-22th, 2021

Event Space Rental Agreement Policy

HKC reserves the right to terminate use of the premises to any organization or individual that violates the following policies and procedures. By submitting payment to HKC, you are accepting the Event Rules, Regulations & Release. I/We understand that the parties hereby released accept no liability of any sort by reason of said lease/rent/use and occupancy of the premises. I/We declare that the terms of this lease/rental/use agreement have been completely read and are fully understood and are voluntarily accepted.

 

For and in consideration of the lease and use of HKC premises located at 460 Park ave, the Responsible Party does hereby for himself/herself, his/her guests and invitees, hereby acknowledge being of lawful age, for myself/ourselves, my/our heirs, administrators, Executors, successors and assigns, guests and invitees, hereby fully and forever release, acquit and discharge the said **HKC**, its members and employees and all other persons, firms and corporations, and their heirs, Administrators, Executors, successors and assigns from any and all actions, causes of action, claim and demands of whatsoever kind or nature on account of any and all known and unknown injuries, losses and damages by me/us or my/our property, our guests and invitees, as a result of and directly or indirectly arising out of the use/lease/rental of the HKC premises.

 

By accepting the terms of this Release I/We understand that the parties hereby released accept no liability of any sort by reason of said lease/rent/use and occupancy of the premises. I/We declare that the terms of this lease/rental/use agreement have been completely read and are fully understood and are voluntarily accepted.

 

This lease/rental/use occupancy agreement and Release With Indemnity Agreement contains the entire agreement between the parties hereto and the terms of this document are contractual in nature and not a mere recital. We further state that we have carefully read the foregoing Release With Indemnity Agreement and the contents thereof and we agree the same as our own free act.

 

1. Usage and Conduct

  • Permitted Activities: The space is available for a variety of events, including corporate meetings, private parties, and social gatherings. Explicitly prohibited activities include gambling, the use of fireworks, and any illegal activities.
  • Noise Control: Noise levels must be kept within the limits prescribed by local ordinances. Quiet hours, if applicable, are from 10 PM to 7 AM.
  • Guest Conduct: Guests are expected to behave in a manner that does not disturb others. Disruptive behavior may lead to immediate termination of the event without a refund.
  • Compliance with Signs and Instructions: Guests must adhere to all posted signage and instructions for safety and proper use of the space.

2. Damage and Liability

  • Responsibility for Guest Actions: The Renter is responsible for any damage to the property or fixtures caused by their guests.
  • Security Measures: For events with over 40 attendees, the Renter is required to hire professional security personnel to maintain safety and order.
  • Personal Property: The Owner is not responsible for loss or damage to personal property brought into the space.
  • Structural Alterations: No structural alterations are permitted without prior written approval from the Owner.

 3. Safety and Emergency

  • The Renter is solely responsible for the safety and well-being of all guests during the event.
  • The Renter must adhere to all emergency procedures as required by law and is responsible for informing their guests of these procedures.
  • In case of an emergency, the Renter is responsible for executing an appropriate response, including evacuation if necessary.

 4. Additional Provisions

  • Photography and Recording: Photography and video recording are permitted, but activities must not infringe on others' rights and comply with laws.
  • Internet and Wi-Fi Usage: Internet and Wi-Fi are available, but usage must comply with legal and security standards.
  • Parking and Transportation: Parking and transportation arrangements must comply with local regulations.
  • Vendor Coordination: The Renter is responsible for external vendors and must ensure they adhere to venue rules.

 5. Legal Compliance

  • The Renter must comply with all health, safety, and legal regulations relevant to the event.
  • Discrimination against any guest, employee, or vendor is strictly prohibited.

 6. Dispute Resolution

  • In the event of a dispute, parties agree to seek resolution through mediation.
  • Any legal proceedings must be conducted in the jurisdiction specified in the Agreement.

 7. Acknowledgment and Signature

  • The Renter acknowledges understanding and agreement to all terms and conditions.
  • Any amendment to this Agreement must be in writing and signed by both parties.
  • This document represents the entire agreement between the Owner and the Renter.
